Style Notes: From delicate and feminine designs to large, bold motifs, floral printed dresses are where it’s at this season. Florals for Spring? Yes, it’s not groundbreaking, but it certainly looks pretty! Flowing silhouettes were the order of the day, with ruffles or detailed sleeves an added bonus. Pair with ankle boots or sneakers to keep the look relevant for this season and just switch them out for your favourite strappy sandals when the weather heats up.
Style Notes: Red was the colour du jour this season and head-to-toe was the favourite way to wear it. If this is too bold a look for you, choose a statement piece in the colour and you’re guaranteed to make an impact.
Style Notes: You’re right – who ever thought that the much mocked fanny pack would be fashionable again?! But we’re not talking about the neon and velcro varieties from the past here! Design houses such as Gucci, Chanel and Valentino have given the form a very stylish makeover – into what we prefer to liken to a belt with a handy pouch to store all your essentials. A small cross-body bag with adjustable straps (that you may already own) can also be worn around the waist to achieve the current look.So while we definitely wouldn’t have predicted it, this is a trend that we’re fully on board with this season.
Style Notes: Stripes are a print that we regard as classic and timeless – your typical French chic look. But new seasons bring new interpretations, and the current trend is the bolder the better. From flowing skirts to athleisure-inspired pants and knits, there’s no limit to how you can wear stripes this summer.
Style Notes: Tweed-inspired checks and dogstooth patterns have been on trend since last season. A checked jacket for example makes for a great transitional piece that is likely to last you for many more seasons.
